Dent and refinish on a 2024 Tesla Model 3 trunk lid
A 2024 Tesla Model 3 came in with dents in the trunk lid. The panel was filled, sanded smooth and refinished to match the metallic gray.

This 2024 Model 3 came in with damage in two spots on the trunk lid, one across the upper surface and one lower down, just above the license plate.
The before photo shows the panel partway through the repair. The whole lid has been sanded, the rear glass is taped off, and the white patches are filler over the low spots. Filler is only as good as the shaping that follows it. It has to be sanded until the curve of the lid runs through the repair without a flat or a high spot, because a trunk lid catches light across its full width and any wave shows.
Once the shape was right, the lid was primed and refinished in the car's metallic gray. Metallic colors are harder to match than solid ones. The flake in the paint has to lie the same way as the factory finish, or the repaired panel looks lighter or darker than the rest of the car from an angle.
